A Third Maryland Office Now Open in Largo
WGK Personal Injury Lawyers is a Maryland personal injury law firm with offices in Baltimore, Dundalk, and Largo. Largo, the firm’s newest location, is located at 1401 Mercantile Lane, Suite 500-M, Largo, MD, and runs by appointment.1
The office sits inside the Largo Park executive office complex, a staffed professional building with onsite parking and other professional-service tenants2. We’re located about a mile east of the Capital Beltway (I-495/I-95) by way of the Landover Road (MD 202) exit.4 For clients who would rather take transit, the Downtown Largo Metro Station, the eastern end of the Blue Line, is roughly three-quarters of a mile away with a park-and-ride lot.3
Who the Largo Office Serves
The Largo office serves Prince George’s County and the surrounding region, a county of nearly a million residents and the second-most-populous in Maryland.5
We proudly represent accident victims in:
- Bowie
- College Park
- Greenbelt
- Hyattsville
- Upper Marlboro, the county seat 6
- Forestville
- Suitland
- District Heights
- Camp Springs, and
- Clinton.
Our Largo law office also handles cases along Indian Head Highway (Route 210) near Fort Washington, Oxon Hill, Accokeek, and Washington D.C. We also handle College Park and Clinton cases from this office, along with the rest of the county.6
Why Prince George’s County
Prince George’s County has led Maryland in traffic deaths in recent years, reporting fatalities more than any other county. County police and state safety reporting point to corridors like Landover Road (MD 202), Central Avenue (MD 214), Pennsylvania Avenue (Route 4), and Indian Head Highway (Route 210) as the roads where most of the region’s serious and fatal crashes happen.7
The Capital Beltway, US Route 50, and the Route 1 corridor through College Park, known for heavy commuter traffic, are also common locations of serious collisions.
Not only is Prince George’s County a hot spot for traffic accidents, it’s also one of the two most plaintiff-favorable jurisdictions in Maryland. Cases tried in Prince George’s County tend to lead to higher verdicts and higher pre-settlement offers from carriers familiar with the venue. Choosing Largo for our third law office provides our clients with greater opportunities to achieve better case results.
This is marketing material and is not legal advice. Every case is unique and laws change frequently. Please contact our office to speak with an attorney about your specific situation before making any legal decisions.
How to Work With the Largo Office
The Largo office is by appointment only, so call (410) 837-2144 to schedule a free consultation. If coming into the office to discuss your case is too difficult, we can arrange to have your case handled remotely from the comfort of your own home.
We understand that, after a crash, life can be incredibly stressful. You’ll have physical therapy visits, time off work, and a barrage of calls from the insurance company, and we don’t want to add to your stress. Most elements of a personal injury case can be handled on the phone. Our Largo personal injury lawyers can handle intake, case strategy, document review, electronic signature, and case updates by phone, email, or text. When your case is resolved, we’ll mail the settlement payment directly to you.
You’re always welcome at our Largo law office, but you are never required to come in if it doesn’t suit your needs.
Where Prince George’s County Cases Are Handled
In Maryland, a personal injury case is generally filed where the crash happened or where the at-fault driver lives, so a Prince George’s County crash is usually handled in the county’s courts.
The Circuit Court for Prince George’s County is the general-jurisdiction trial court for the county. Located at 14735 Main Street, Upper Marlboro, MD, this court handles civil personal injury cases above the District Court’s $30,000 threshold.8
Prince George’s County is one of the few counties in Maryland with two District Court branches. The Upper Marlboro branch serves the southern half of the county; the Hyattsville branch, at 4990 Rhode Island Avenue, serves the northern half.9 Both handle civil cases up to meaningful settlements.
Maryland gives you three years from the date of an accident to file most personal injury lawsuits, with much shorter notice deadlines for claims against government agencies. Our Maryland personal injury page covers the statewide rules in full.
Medical Care After a Crash in the Largo Area
Getting prompt medical treatment is critical for your health and the strength of your personal injury claim.
If you’re involved in an accident in Largo or the surrounding areas, the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center, located at 901 Harry S. Truman Drive North in Largo, is the closest Level II trauma center to our law office. It opened in June 2021, replacing the former Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, and is staffed around the clock. 10
For accident victims in northern Prince George’s County, the emergency department at the Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center, 8118 Good Luck Road in Lanham, is a good option for 24/7 care.
If you need follow-up medical attention, Patient First operates several urgent-care clinics across the county, and is one of the facilities our clients use most. 12
